About Col. Hadfield
Chris Austin Hadfield is a retired Canadian astronaut, and was the first Canadian to walk in space. He is an engineer and former Royal Canadian Air Force fighter pilot. Col. Hadfield has flown two space shuttle missions and served as commander of the International Space Station. He has been honored with numerous awards, including the Order of Ontario, Vanier Award, NASA Exceptional Service Medal, the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012. Moreover, he is the only Canadian to get both the military and Civilian Meritorious Service Cross.
