The book, ‘Bangabandhu and Banglabesh: Politics, Culture and Heritage’ is a collection of selected articles and commentaries on Bangabandhu, politics, culture and heritage of Bangladesh. The articles on Bangabandhu tried to highlight only some areas of his unparalleled contributions in the creation of the sovereign state of Bangladesh. The other ones dealt with the achievements and challenges Bangladesh encountered in various areas over the last fifty years after independence. Bangladesh, since independence in 1971, has travelled a long way towards prosperity and development, dispelling doubts about its existence and constraints of an insurmountable nature. However, in the coming years, it is yet to be seen how she fares in institutionalizing democracy and ensures equity and social justice for her citizens for which so many of them laid down their lives.
