The intention behind the writing of this short book is to introduce the readers to different aspects of Nazrul Islam’s genius and assess his contribution to the literature and culture of Bengal. While the ground plan is the same as the one I used for an ealier book called Introducing Nazrul Islam much of the materials used is new. I am thankful to the executive Director, Mohammad Mahfuzullah and the Secretary. M. Ashabur Rahman, of Nazrul Institute, Dhaka, for the interest they took in the publication of this book.
