Tuna and Tuni are characters that come from folk stories told to me as a child by my Bangladeshi parents. In these stories the two birds were married and went about doing many daily tasks together. Simple tasks for people became adventures for the two little birds. Many other people from South-Asia have stories that include similar characters. The origins of these stories are unclear but are passed down from one generation to the next. The stories that I hope to share with you all are original stories written by me about adventures that Tuna and Tuni go on before they get married. They will teach readers about true friendship, diversity and embracing their many talents. I hope to write many more stories about these two birds to share with a new generation just as my parents and many other parents have shared with their kids.I hope that these bilingual books will bring kids and parents together in a new way.
